“Pompette” is inspired by Sancerre! We love high acid, brilliant, nervy and vertical white wines and Sancerre embodies all of those attributes & styles. The name is a loose French, feminine, colloquial expression which means “tipsy” or “buzzed.” Muhahahaaaaa.
“Pompette” is sourced from Coquelicot vineyard in western Santa Ynez Valley, just behind the town of Solvang. Coquelicot is farmed organically. This cool-climate site has rocky, gravely soil and is one of the farthest western vineyards in Santa Ynez Valley A.V.A.
“Pompette” was harvested on September 30. The grapes were pressed and the juice fermented and aged in neutral barrique (7-10 years old) and stainless mueller barrels.
